The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office on Monday identified a man fatally shot earlier this month in McKeesport as Yancy Felder.

Felder, 26, of Pittsburgh, was pronounced dead on April 5 at 7:23 p.m. in the emergency room at UPMC Presbyterian hospital in Oakland, the medical examiner said.

Felder had been shot that evening in the 600 block of Hospital Way, according to Allegheny County Police.

The county’s 911 center received a call about the shooting around 6:20 p.m.

No arrests have been made.

“Detectives believe the shooting was domestic in nature and there is no threat to the public,” Jim Madalinsky, a police spokesman, told TribLive.

On Sept. 11, 2023, a judge sentenced Felder to 10 to 20 months in jail after he pleaded guilty to an aggravated assault, court records show. In that incident, police said, Felder fired two shots into an occupied vehicle in East Pittsburgh.

Madalinsky declined comment on the earlier case.

Anyone with information about the McKeesport shooting is asked to call the County Police Tip Line 1-833-ALL-TIPS. (1-833-255-8477). Callers can remain anonymous.
