A Beltzhoover man spent Wednesday harassing his ex-girlfriend via text and through phone calls before he opened fire through the window of her Clairton home, according to charges filed Thursday.

Timothy Wallace, 37, is charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and weapons charges.

The shooting happened shortly after 11 p.m.

Wallace’s ex-girlfriend, was in her living room on the phone with her cousin when she heard someone tapping on her window, according to the criminal complaint. She said she saw Wallace peeking through her window and looking around. She said he asked her to come to the door.

The woman told police she recognized Wallace’s voice, and she didn’t want to go to the door, according to the complaint. She then heard two gunshots and shattering glass, then felt the gunfire hit her in the head. She ducked into the couch and then ran to her son and daughter who were in the home with her.

Investigators found three shell casings in the shrubbery below the victim’s living room window, according to the complaint. Two of the gunshots went through the couch and into the wall.

When police arrived, the woman told them she’d recently broken up with Wallace and she’d been receiving harassing text messages and phone calls from him throughout the day, according to the complaint. He didn’t threaten her, she said, but accused her of dating another man, and he told her he was coming to her house, police wrote.

A neighbor told police they were outside when they heard three gunshots and then saw a person dressed in all black coming down the steps of the woman’s home, according to the complaint.

Police were still searching for Wallace on Thursday afternoon.

Anyone with information is asked to contact county police via social media or their tip line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS (1-833-255-8477).
