A social media observation best summed up the events along Mt. Royal Boulevard on Sept. 21:

“Best day of the year! Once a Titan, always a Titan!”

Displaying enthusiasm along those lines, thousands of community members attended Shaler Area Homecoming festivities, starting with a morning parade in what turned out to be optimal weather.

As participants marched, drove and rode along the street, the grounds of the district administration building and adjacent middle school were filled with booths representing various teams, booster groups and scholastic organizations, featuring a variety of food, drinks and activities for festival goers.

Homecoming’s theme was “Once Upon a Time,” and even a loss to Woodland Hills in the days football game probably failed to dampen the spirits of those who will have fond memories of that special day in 2024.

All in all, it measured up to be — please pardon the expression — Titanic!
