Bethel Park is gearing up for a “Spooktacularly” good time this Halloween.

“We’re excited to bring all of these Halloween traditions back to our community once again,” Bethel Park municipal manager Laurence Christian said in a news release.

The celebration kicks off with the Third Annual Halloween Decorating Contest for Bethel Park residents from Oct. 23-31. One winner will be selected per ward. To nominate a home or for more information, email jdavin@bethelpark.net or call 412-831-6800 ext 211.

The Second Annual Spooktacular Parade will be held at 9 a.m. Oct. 30, once again featuring two parade routes (north and south) with fire trucks, police cars, Public Works vehicles, a TCS-EMS ambulance, antique cars and more traveling throughout the municipality providing candy to kids of all ages.

“We did shorten this year’s parade routes a bit to accommodate parade participants and spectators. Last year’s parade ran around three hours; this year’s will be a bit shorter but equally fun for our residents,” Christian said.

Parade routes will be posted on the municipal Facebook page

(Municipality of Bethel Park) and at bethelpark.net. The municipality will also feature a Facebook Live of the parade on the Facebook page.

And, trick-or-treating will be held 6-8 p.m. Oct. 31.

Residents wishing to participate in trick-or-treating should turn their porch lights on; those not wanting to participate can leave their porch lights off.
