Bethel Park hosts April 27 job fair
In an effort to help its local business community obtain a robust workforce, the municipality of Bethel Park in cooperation with the Bethel Park Chamber of Commerce, will hold a free job fair.
The event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon April 27 at the Bethel Park Community Center, 5151 Park Ave.
“Bethel Park is excited to hold another job fair for our residents and businesses community,” municipal manager Kristen Denne said. “This is a great opportunity for all generations and job skill sets to explore the various opportunities that are available locally.”
The fair is free to attend for employers and job seekers.
“Our business community has a lot of open positions, and this is a great opportunity for everyone, but particularly Bethel Park residents, to find a job,” John Oakes, council president, said. “We already have over 300 open positions that employers will be hiring for at the job fair, including full-time, part-time and seasonal work.”
Positions are available in education, the trades, administration, the restaurant industry, retail, and more.
For job seekers, a variety of free resources will be available, including resume assistance, advice on setting up LinkedIn profiles, job search techniques, interviewing tips, and signups for free Bethel Park Public Library computer courses.
The Job Fair Steering Committee includes local business, municipal officials and staff members, the Bethel Park Chamber and Bethel Park Public Library.
“It’s important to keep businesses healthy. We don’t like see empty store fronts,” said Tim Moury, job fair team member and president and CEO of Vericheck Technical Services Inc. “It’s been a struggle for businesses today to get and keep employees, so this is a perfect marriage of helping Bethel Park people find Bethel Park jobs.”
