Two of Bethel Park’s largest races were seemingly the easiest.

Bethel Park District Judge Ron Arnoni will be keeping his seat, as he ran unopposed in the primary on both the Republican and Democratic tickets.

Incumbent Republican Mayor Jack Allen ran uncontested in the primary. In November, he will face a Democratic write-in candidate – 738 write-in votes were cast for the Democratic nomination.

Just 10 write-in votes are needed to get on the ballot in November, according to county election officials.

Those who receive enough write-in votes to run in the general election must accept the party’s nomination and be qualified to run before their names are placed on the ballot.

For Bethel Park council, only the Democratic Ward 3 race and Republican Ward 9 races were contested.

In Ward 3, Danielle Gosnell ousted incumbent James Hannan, with 277 votes to his 150. She will face Republican incumbent John Oakes in the general election.

In Ward 9, Justian Tiano received 285 votes while Jonathan Winfield only received 79. Tiano will run against Democrat Lindsay Flinn in November.

In Ward 1, Democrat Joseph Consolmagno would face a Republican write-in candidate in November.

In Ward 5, Democrat Joe Janosik will run against Republican Donald Harrison, while in Ward 7, Republican David Espinar could vie against a Democratic write-in.

The Bethel Park school board race saw seven candidates cross-filed for four ballot spots in each party. No incumbents were seeking reelection.

The four Democratic nominees are Sharon Janosik with 2,908 votes, Dan Grzybek with 2,451, Sean Browne with 2,186 and Buffie Faes with 2,134.

The four Republican nominees are Gaile Hoppe with 2,505 votes, James Means Jr. with 2,402, Rory Smith with 2,214 and Gryzbek with 1,109.
