Cause of death released for Pittsburgh man found dead in the Allegheny River in October

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office said late Wednesday that a Pittsburgh man whose body was found in the Allegheny River last October accidentally drowned.

First responders found the body of Adam Benjamin Gettens, 25, next to Herr’s Island in Pittsburgh on Oct. 24, 2024.

A release from the medical examiner’s office said Gettens accidentally drowned.
