Limited tickets are on sale for the annual North Allegheny Women’s Association Adult Egg Hunt, scheduled for April 19 at the North Park Lodge.

Tickets can be purchased by visiting www.nawomen.org.

NAWA is a social and charitable organization for women in the North Allegheny communities of McCandless, Franklin Park, Marshall and Bradford Woods.

A $40 ticket includes dinner, one “boozy” drink and five basket raffle tickets, according to Joslyne Counselman, president for NAWA.

“Hundreds of eggs will be filled with raffle tickets to win one of our many Easter basket prizes,” Counselman said. “However, everyone will start with five raffle tickets to increase chances of winning a basket prize.”

The proceeds will benefit NAWA’s efforts of serving its community and Pittsburgh nonprofit Living in Liberty, which works to combat human trafficking in southwestern Pennsylvania by supporting survivors on the streets and in their safe home, as well as providing community education about the realities of commercial sexual exploitation in Pittsburgh, according to its website.

NAWA was set to partner with Living in Liberty in 2020, but the hunt was canceled because of the pandemic.

“We are excited to finally recognize and work with them at this hunt,” Counselman said.

There will be 50/50 raffle tickets available to purchase, with funds going toward Living in Liberty.

No additional alcohol can be purchased at the event, and each participant must bring a driver’s license or legal identification to verify legal age. Participants in the hunt must be 21 and older.

Also, it’s BYOB, as in Bring Your Own Basket, Counselman said.

“Use your imagination,” she said. “Awards will be given for most creative basket design.”

Mary Ours of KDKA will return as emcee.
