A car crashed and caught fire early Tuesday morning on the Liberty Bridge, according to Pittsburgh police.
According to a Pittsburgh Public Safety report, the vehicle was headed inbound at a high rate of speed when it crashed just outside of the tunnel into a guardrail and caught fire.
Police said EMS arrived and treated a male passenger, who was then transported to the hospital in critical condition.
A field sobriety test was administered to the female driver, police said. She was taken in for further testing, they said.
The Collision Investigation Unit was called to the scene.
Portions of the roadway were closed briefly early Tuesday morning, but the scene was cleared after a short time.
An investigation is ongoing.
