Baldwin Street and McLaughlin Run Park in Bridgeville look a little greener.

Volunteers, with the help of the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy’s TreeVitalize program, planted 13 trees along Baldwin Street and at McLaughlin Run Park on Saturday, Nov. 1.

TreeVitalize is an application-based, community tree planting program. It is a joint project of Allegheny County Parks, the City of Pittsburgh, Tree Pittsburgh, the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, and the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy.

Since 2008, TreeVitalize has planted more than 40,000 trees in 59 municipalities in Allegheny County, and 82 Pittsburgh neighborhoods.

It was Bridgeville’s fourth community tree planting.
