Chartiers Valley school officials inked a 3-year contract with the district’s non-teaching staff.
The new agreement calls for a 4% wage increase for its members, which include secretaries, cafeteria workers, technology technicians, instructional aides, playground monitors, paraprofessionals and office staff.
The current agreement expires in June.
“By meeting early, both parties were able to reach a favorable agreement that supports staff needs while maintaining fiscal responsibility,” district officials said in a statement.
The new contract takes effect July 1 and runs until June 30, 2029.
The new contract also establishes a 2% insurance premium co-pay.
As part of the agreement, a payroll position will be removed from the bargaining unit, while the district will add a facilities secretary position.
“We deeply value the dedication and hard work of our support staff, who are vital to the daily operations and success of our schools,” said Darren Mariano, school board president.
“This agreement reflects a collaborative effort to recognize staff contributions, address longstanding pay disparities, and ensure continued stability and efficiency for the district.”
