Academic achievements, MAC Sportsmanship Team and more from Carnegie area students

SUNYAC Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll

Natalie Wasielewski, a resident of Carnegie, was one of 100 SUNY Potsdam student-athletes to earn a spot on the State University of New York Athletic Conference Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll for the 2020-21 school year. Wasielewski is a senior member of the SUNY Potsdam women’s hockey team. Athletes named to the academic honor roll had a minimum 3.3 cumulative GPA for the year.

MAC Sportsmanship Team

Olivia Cindrich of Carnegie is one of 25 Lebanon Valley College students named to the Middle Atlantic Conference’s 2020-21 All-Sportsmanship Team. Cindrich, a graduate of Carlynton Jr-Sr High School, is a member of the women’s ice hockey team and is pursuing a bachelor of science in exercise science.

One student-athlete in each sport was nominated by their coach for inclusion on the team, which recognizes student-athletes who exemplify great character and demonstrate the act of sportsmanship both on and off the field of play. They represent their team, institution and the conference with high integrity, and exhibit respect for themselves, teammates, coaches and opponents.

The MAC named 403 student-athletes to its 2020-21 All-Sportsmanship Teams.
