Bridgeville councilmen, manager, newsletter recognized by state association
Bridgeville councilmen Bruce Ghelarducci, Jason Sarasnick and Joseph Verduci; Manager Joe Kauer; and the borough’s newsletter were recognized by the Pennsylvania State Association of Boroughs on June 3.
Sarasnick and Verduci were one of 31 borough officials statewide to receive the Cecil K. Leberknight awards, given to officials with 10 or more years of borough service. They were the only borough councilmen in Allegheny County to receive that award.
Verduci, Bridgeville’s Council President, said he was honored and humbled to receive the recognition.
“The most rewarding part of serving as a councilman for Bridgeville has been the opportunity to work closely with our residents and community organizations,” he said. “Seeing projects come to life — whether it’s improving infrastructure, supporting local businesses or enhancing our parks — makes all the effort worthwhile.
“It’s about making Bridgeville an even better place to live, and I’m grateful to be part of that journey.”
Ghelarducci and Kauer received the Thomas F. Chrostwaite award, given to those who have completed 20 or more years of borough service. They were two of 19 officials statewide, and the only ones in Allegheny County, to earn that award.
Bridgeville also won first place for its newsletter.
“Our newsletters are a true community collaboration, shaped by contributions from our small-business community, civic organizations, clubs, municipal departments and public officials,” Kauer said.
“We take pride in offering an informative and trusted guide that has earned recognition and value across the state.”
