Bridgeville police Wednesday arrested a man on charges of DUI and heroin possession at a Kona With the Cops event.

Officers and a Kona Ice truck were handing out free frozen treats around the borough Wednesday afternoon.

The arrest happened at the event’s final stop at Chartiers Park, according to a post on the department’s Facebook page.

Court documents identify the suspect as Justin Thomas Crise, 37, of Pittsburgh.

Crise allegedly “arrived in a park full of children, driving like an idiot, acting like an idiot, and possessing 50 bags of heroin,” the department wrote on Facebook.

Crise also had syringes and crack pipes, according to police.

“Apparently ‘JT’ thought this event was ‘dope with the cops,’” the department wrote.

Crise is charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance, three counts of DUI, and two summary traffic offenses.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 5.

Crise has previous convictions of drug possession, theft, terroristic threats and receiving stolen property stemming from incidents in 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2018.
