Bridgeville to host ‘tree tender’ course

An upcoming course in Bridgeville will teach people hands-on skills in tree planting and care.

Bridgeville is hosting a “tree tender course” Feb. 28 at the borough building, 425 Bower Hill Road.

The class runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Lunch will be provided.

It is for borough residents only. There is a 25-person limit.

Registration is required. Register by contacting Manager Joe Kauer at jkauer@bridgevilleboro.com or at 412-221-6012, ext. 111.

According to the borough, the tree tender certification course is designed to give participants practical, hands-on experience with community trees.

Topics to be taught at the course include tree planting, establishment and care; pruning for storm resilience; common pests and diseases and basic tree identification, according to the borough.
