Carnegie area coronavirus numbers for the week of Feb. 3, 2021

The communities within the Signal Item coverage area are following the national trend of reporting fewer covid-19 cases each week.

As of Feb. 3, there have been 401 total cases of the novel coronavirus in the Borough of Carnegie since March, according to the latest information provided by an interactive Allegheny County covid-19 map. Two deaths have been reported, and 2,145 tests have been administered to Carnegie residents.

Since the pandemic began, Scott Township has had 1,062 cases (45 deaths), South Fayette has had 1,020 (43 deaths), Collier Township has had 496 (three deaths), Bridgeville has had 259 cases and four deaths, and Heidelberg has had just 62 cases and reported one death.

South Fayette’s case rate is the highest among the communities at 708 per 10,000 residents.
