Chartiers Valley School District has announced contingency plans for prom and graduation.

While the district hopes to hold prom on the originally scheduled date of May 22 and commencement on May 28, they have created two alternate plans, according to district spokeswoman Mikaela Duckstein.

If social restrictions remain in place through the end of May or early June, prom will be held July 6. Graduation practice will be held July 7 and 8, and commencement will be held July 9.

If social restrictions are in place through early July, prom will be held July 27. Graduation practice will be held July 28 and 29 and commencement will be held July 30.

On May 11, almost 40 high school teachers will deliver care packages to the class of 2020, while practicing social distancing. The packages include caps and gowns, yard signs, letters from the superintendent and principals and a drawstring bag.
