The Chartiers Valley School Board voted unanimously during its July 6 meeting to offer a contract extension to superintendent Johannah Vanatta.

Vanatta’s contract, originally set to expire in March 2023, will now extend through June 2026.

The superintendent previously worked as an assistant superintendent in the McGuffey School District before assuming her leadership role at Chartiers Valley in 2018. She was also an assistant superintendent and assistant high school principal in the North Hills School District.

Vanatta’s “steadfast leadership throughout a tumultuous pandemic year resulted in a successful school year, despite the challenge,” was noted in a press release published on the school’s website. Her “informed decision-making and focus on the well-being of Chartiers Valley students, staff, and families” during the pandemic helped create a safe environment, according to the district.
