As the rise of coronavirus cases slows in Allegheny County and across the country, the communities within the Signal Item coverage area have varying numbers of both positive cases and deaths.

As of Jan. 20, there have been 385 total cases of the novel coronavirus in the Borough of Carnegie since March, according to the latest information provided by an interactive Allegheny County covid-19 map. Two deaths have been reported, and 2,041 tests have been administered to Carnegie residents.

Since the pandemic began, Scott Township has had 980 cases (39 deaths), South Fayette has had 952 (38 deaths), Collier Township has had 460 (two deaths), Bridgeville has had 241 cases and three deaths, and Heidelberg has had just 50 cases and reported one death.

South Fayette’s case rate is the highest among the communities at 660 per 10,000 residents.
