Teachers at Chartiers Valley Middle School left work Wednesday, May 8 with clean cars thanks to students in the National Junior Honor Society.

“When students were asked about doing a service project for Teacher Appreciation Week, they thought of washing the teachers’ cars during their free periods,” said Dina Roberts, seventh grade math teacher and NJHS co-advisor.

NJHS is a student-led organization at the middle school, Roberts said.

Teacher appreciation week was May 6 through May 10.

Roberts said students signed up for one class period to wash cars, and teachers who had prep time during the day were able to drive to the car wash, Roberts said.

“It was a gorgeous day, and the teachers were happy to drive home (clean) cars,” Roberts said.

Supplies were donated by Station Auto Parts NAPA in Bridgeville.
