Graduates medical school

Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine conferred a doctor of medicine (MD) degree upon 98 students who compose Geisinger Commonwealth’s graduating class of 2021, including Alexander P. McGeough of Carnegie. Commencement ceremonies were held May 2 at Mount Airy Resort in Mount Pocono. The ceremony was also live-streamed.

Mount Union SCHOLAR Day

The University of Mount Union hosted its annual Student Celebration Honoring Our Latest Academic Research (SCHOLAR) Day in a hybrid in-person/virtual model on April 20.

Kaleb Krebs, a physical education and health major, was selected for work on a formal presentation titled “School to Prison Pipeline in American Education,” during the University of Mount Union’s SCHOLAR Day.

Krebs was also awarded the Marge Cooke Prize at the 2021 Mount Union Honors Convocation.

Phi Kappi Phi Honor Society

Duquesne University students Brianna Caridi and Alaiana Turocy were initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines.

Only the top 10% of seniors and 7.5% of juniors are eligible for membership.

Earns MS in IT

Manoj Reddy Kandukuri graduated from the University of the Cumberlands with a master of science in information technology.
