Friends of Collier Parks, Recreation hosting spaghetti dinner

The Historical Society of Collier Township and the Pioneers West Historical Society will be hosting a presentation of the early settlers of Collier at 6 p.m. March 17, at the Collier Township Community Center. Local historian John F. Oyler will be the presenter. Light refreshments will be served.

The community center is at 5 Lobaugh Street, Oakdale.

Carlynton Youth Football, Cheerleader signups set for March 17, 18

From 6 to 7:30 p.m. March 17 and 18, Carlynton Youth Football and Cheerleader signups will be held at the Carlynton Jr/Sr High School gym lobby. This is for boys and girls grades K through 6. Children must be present at sign-ups and a resident of the school district.

Carlynton H.S. presents ‘Cinderella’

The Carlynton High School musical, “Cinderella,” will be held at 7:30 p.m. March 26-28; and 2 p.m. March 29

Tickets are $11 reserved and $10 general admission. Tickets will be available at the door up to one hour before the show.

Spaghetti dinner fundraiser set

The Friends of Collier Parks and Recreation will host an inaugural spaghetti dinner fundraiser from 4 to 7 p.m. March 28 at the Collier Community Center, 5 Lobaugh St., Oakdale.

Tickets can be purchased in advance for $10, $5 for children. Admission at the door is $12, $6 for children.

Dinner includes spaghetti, salad, dinner roll, dessert and beverages. Beer will be available for an additional fee. For details, call 412-418-9692.

Carlynton Aqua Club offers lessons

Carlynton Aqua Club will be offering swim lessons again this spring. The lessons are a series of eight classes for $150. The first class is March 30. Breakfast with Bunny, egg hunt is April 4

On April 4, South Fayette High School will host a special community event to celebrate Easter.

A breakfast will be held at the high school cafeteria from 9 to 11 a.m. A bunny-led parade will commence at 11 a.m. from the front of the high school to the football stadium. Then, at 11:15 a.m., the egg hunt will be held.

The cost to attend the breakfast is $5 per person, payable at the door, and will include a pancake breakfast, beverage, coloring book, a treat and a visit with the Easter Bunny where photo opportunities will be available.

If participating in the egg hunt only, a $1 donation is requested. All proceeds from the event benefit students with special needs.

South Fayette High School is at 3640 Old Oakdale Road, McDonald.

Heidelberg VFD sets Good Friday Fish Fry

A Good Friday Fish Fry will be held from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. April 10 at Heidelberg Volunteer Fire Department. All major credit cards are accepted.

Bridgeville UMC plans fundraising dinner

First United Methodist Church of Bridgeville will be hosting at spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. April 18. The dinner will include spaghetti with meat sauce, salad, bread, dessert and a beverage. The cost is $10, $5 for ages 2 to 12 and free for younger than age 2. Take-out will also be available. Call 412-221-5577 to place take-out orders. All proceeds benefit the church.

The church is at 244 Station St., Bridgeville.

Comedy night planned for April 25 benefits firefighters

A comedy night to benefit the fire departments of Kirwan Heights, Presto, Rennerdale and Heidelberg will be held April 25 at Heidelberg VFD. Tickets are $50 each and include admission to the event, a ticket for $1,000 cash giveaway, food, beer, pop and water. Chinese and silent auction tickets will be available for purchase the night of the event. There are only 400 tickets available for the event.

Carnegie Boys, Girls Club registration opens

The Carnegie Boys & Girls Club Summer Camp registration is now open. The camp costs $115 a week per child. This includes breakfast and lunch. Need-based scholarships are available. For more information, call the club Director Dom Panucci at 412-276-3151.
