Bridgeville's Gregg Avenue steps reopened to the public in August.

Bridgeville’s Gregg Avenue steps are now available for public use.

The steps connect McLaughlin Run Road at the bottom of Laurel Street with Bridgeville’s uptown area along Gregg Avenue and Greenwood Place.

The steps had been in poor condition and closed for some time. Construction took place this summer.

The stairway also includes a bicycle runnel, where bicyclists can walk their bike alongside the steps instead of carrying it.

The project was one of the top priorities listed in the 2022 Bridgeville Active Transportation Plan, according to the borough. A state grant covered about 70% of the costs.

According to the borough’s 2025 budget, officials estimated $355,400 for total costs of the project with $248,000 covered by a state grant.
