Collier summer concert series
Concerts have been scheduled from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sundays at Collier Community Park, 5 Lobaugh Street.
Performers are: June 1, Shades of Time; June 8, Ashley Marina; June 15, West Hills Symphonic Band; June 22, Frank Vieira; June 29, Michael Linder from 28 North; July 6, Hewlett Anderson; July 13, Vinyl Rewind; July 20, Timothy Earl; July 27, Scott, Rob and Greg of the Clarks; Aug. 3, November Blue; Aug. 10, RML Jazz; and Aug. 17, Straight Up.
Touch-a-truck
Scott’s Touch-a-Truck and Public Safety Day is set for noon to 3 p.m. June 14 at Scott Township Park, 2 Park Drive.
Activities include emergency vehicles, construction trucks, food trucks, a tow truck, demonstrations, balloon artist and more.
Shade tree commission members sought
Bridgeville is forming a shade tree commission and is looking for volunteer members.
Shade tree commissions help guide the planting, care and preservation of trees in public spaces, such as parks, municipal properties and rights-of-way.
People interested in being on the commission should send a letter of interest to Manager Joe Kauer at jkauer@bridgevilleboro.com or mail it to: Joe Kauer, Borough Manager, 425 Bower Hill Road, Bridgeville, Pa. 15017.
The deadline to apply is June 2. Borough Council will appoint five members to serve on the commission.
License plate replacement slated
Collier police and state Rep. Anita Kulik, D-Carnegie, are hosting a license plate replacement event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 6 at the Collier Community Center, 5 Lobaugh St.
Collier police will assist in filling out paperwork for a replacement license plate through PennDOT. People should bring a photo of their damaged or worn license plate to the event.

Farmers market vendors wanted
Scott officials are seeking interested vendors to participate in the township’s outdoor farmers market at Scott Township Park, 2 Park Drive.
The market runs every Wednesday until Oct. 15. Hours are 4 to 7 p.m.

Gregg Avenue steps work ongoing
Construction of Bridgeville’s Gregg Avenue steps will continue through June, according to the borough.
The steps connect Laurel Street, McLaughlin Run Road and Greenwood Place.
This project is funded in part by a state grant, which covers 70% of the costs.
Community garage sale on tap
Bridgeville’s Community Garage Sale Weekend is June 28 and 29.
Times are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event is boroughwide.
History program scheduled
The Bridgeville Area Historical Society will host “The Year That Made America: from Rebellion to Independence, 1775-1776,” by Tom McMillan at 7:30 p.m. June 24.
The event will be held in the BVFD’s Chartiers Room. Admission is free.
The society will have no programs in July or August.
