Carnegie Independence Day Celebration
Carnegie Park will host an Independence Day Celebration beginning at 2 p.m. July 3. There will be live music, food trucks, games, fireworks and more. The Pitcher Party Skate Tournament will take place at 2 p.m. for those under 17 and at 3 p.m. for those over 18. A bowl jam will take place at 5 p.m. For more information, visit carnegieborough.com.
Bridgeville Community-Wide Garage Sale
An unofficial community event is being held 9 a.m.- 2 p.m. June 26-27, where garage sales will be held around Bridgeville. If you are looking to participate, simply set up. Let’s get out, walk the neighborhood, talk to your neighbors and possibly find a good deal at the garage sales set up this weekend in Bridgeville.
Streets participating currently include Bluff, Center, Cook School, Critchfield, Gregg, Harding, Laurel, Main, McLaughlin Run, McMillen, Missouri, Orchard and Terrance.
A rain date has been set for 9 a.m.-2 p.m. July 10. For more information, visit bridgevilleboro.com.
Free summer lunch program
Free grab-n-go breakfasts/lunches are being distributed at sites in both Carnegie and Crafton. The free meals are Monday through Friday throughout the summer and open to anyone 18 and under. There is no cost or sign-up required.
In Carnegie, there will be three distribution locations: outside of the Carnegie Borough Building, One Veterans Way, from 11 a.m.-noon; St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 601 Washington Ave.,4-5 p.m.; in front of the Carnegie Boys and Girls Club, 630 Washington Ave., 11:30 to 12:30 p.m.
The Crafton distribution location will be in front of Crafton Elementary School from 11 a.m.-noon.
Flea market
The Church of the Atonement, 618 Washington Ave., Carnegie has scheduled an indoor and an outdoor flea market for June 26 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Vendors are needed for the flea market on the lawn to rent space for $10, but they must bring their own table or blanket and chair. Church members will set up the indoor flea market. Some items for sale include baby/toddler clothing, bassinet, toys, golf bag/clubs, kitchen items, linens, yarn, lamps, puzzles, tools and more.

Movies in the park
South Fayette Township’s Movies in the Park summer series is set. Movies start at dusk (around 8:30 p.m.) at Fairview Park. Bring a blanket, chairs, bug spray and snacks.
Designated spaces for each household will ensure social distancing.
