Coffee with the Chief goes virtual

South Fayette Township Police Chief John Phoennik invites the public to a virtual lunchtime session of Coffee with the Chief from noon to 1 p.m. Feb. 12. Via the online Zoom platform, attendees can meet Chief Phoennik, share comments and ask questions. Use your telephone, computer or smartphone to join the meeting. South Fayette launches app

Download the new mobile app, South Fayette CitizenLink, to connect on the go with South Fayette Township using a smartphone or tablet. It’s free on the App Store (iPhone) and Google Play (Android). Quickly connect with your most important local government services using the official app of South Fayette Township. The app features emergency alerts, news updates, waste collection delaus, as well as the ability to contact township staff, register for recreation programs, review public meeting agendas and even apply for jobs. Legislative Forecast 2021

The 2021 South West Communities Legislative Forecast is returning 11 a.m. Feb. 11 to bring you updates from the state and our communities through the viewpoints of regional legislators. Local officials will share news direct from Harrisburg as well as district updates to give a comprehensive look at changes to come in the new year.

Joining State Representatives Anita Kulik, D-Kennedy; Jason Ortitay, R-Bridgeville; and Natalie Mihalek, R-Upper St. Clair; is the newly appointed Senator Devlin Robinson, R-Bridgeville, who will share his remarks in regard to what is to come in 2021. A collaborative Q & A session will follow presentations.

Winter Sock Drive

Girl Scout Junior Troop 46700 and Cub Scout Pack 860 Riger Den are teaming up for a Sock Drive for the Salvation Army’s Chartier’s Valley Service Unit. Through Feb. 5, new socks of any size (or monetary donations) can be dropped off to Scout members or in the large black and yellow bin on the front porch at 1003 Old Noblestown Road in Oakdale.

Drive-up bingo

Play bingo from the warmth and safety of your car. Bingo boards are provided, with numbers broadcast over the car radio. It’s free and there is an opportunity to win great prizes. The event is held in the South Fayette Senior Center Parking Lot (back entrance at 515 Millers Run Road). Participants must stay in vehicles at all times.
