Construction on the many improvements to McLaughlin Run Park is nearing completion.

At Bridgeville’s June 14 council meeting, council authorized the rental of the two new picnic shelters at a reduced rate of $35 for residents – they currently do not have electric service like the borough’s other shelters.

Recent improvements to the park include an improved entrance, parking areas, paved access road and trail, new picnic shelters, new skate park equipment, landscaping and other site amenities including a water fountain and flagpole.

McLaughlin Run Park has a basketball court, tennis/pickleball court, skate park, playground, volleyball court, restrooms, horseshoe court and three picnic shelters.

The former baseball field has also been lowered to serve as a flood mitigation tool to serve the community. Once the grass grows in completely later this year, it will serve as a passive all-purpose field.
