Molly’s Dog Park recently opened in Collier Township, on the Panhandle Trail by Walkers Mill. It was made possible by several generous donations from residents, Friends of the Panhandle Trail and Friends of Collier Parks and Recreation, according to Collier Township manager Kyle Thauvette.

The park has picnic tables, memorial benches, bag holders for doggie waste and ample shaded areas. Thauvette said that future plans include water fountains for humans and dogs, and restroom facilities for trail and dog park users alike.

”Collier prides itself on offering a wide variety of recreational opportunities,” Thauvette said. “We feel the dog park is one of the many unique amenities that we have. It’s a great example of a community coming together and working to create a new park in our township.”
