Virtual 5K

Quantum Spirits will be holding its 14th annual virtual 5K run/walk from April 24 to May 25. Participants will be able to choose their activity and route (or a suggested route). Registration is $25 and $10 for Carlynton students and children under 10 and younger. Registration can be done online or by mail.

Glass recycling event

A traveling glass recycling bin presented by the Pennsylvania Resources Council will be in Upper St. Clair April 17-22 from 7 a.m. to sundown. The bin will be at the Upper St. Clair Community and Recreation Center, 1551 Mayview Road. Place glass only in the collection bin. Bags and boxes used to deliver glass must be discarded off-site. No need to separate colors. Leave lids and labels on.

Keep Collier Beautiful

The Keep Collier Beautiful event is back April 24 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Gloves, bags and vests will be available to pick up from the administration building the week prior to the event. Social distancing, masks and registration are required.

Earth Day cleanup

Pick up a supply-n-goody bag from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., April 15-16 at the South Fayette Township office, and clean up litter anytime that week or weekend.

Drop off filled trash bags into a specially marked bin behind the township building/library, 515 Millers Run Road, or email pwillis@sftwp.com to arrange for a complimentary pickup.

Military, veteran banner program

Each year from Memorial Day to Veterans Day, South Fayette will display banners along roads to recognize its residents, past and present, who serve or have served in any branch of the U.S. military. Flea market sale

The Church of the Atonement, 618 Washington Ave. in Carnegie, is hosting a flea market from 9 a.m.-2 p.m., April 23-24. The market will be closed on April 24 from noon until 1 p.m. for lunch prior to reopening for the bag sale at 1 p.m. There will be kitchen items, linens, lamps and more.

Virtual coffee session with the chief

In-Person Summer Playground Camp

Enjoy park playgrounds, crafts, sports, games and more at South Fayette Township’s nine-week Summer Playground Camp for children ages 5-12. The camp will be held from June 14-Aug. 13.

Masks and daily health screenings are required of all staff members and campers.

Campers can choose to attend half-day sessions, which are $10 per session, per child or full-day sessions, which are $20 per day.
