Bridgeville is cooking up 125 years of memories with a community cookbook.
The borough’s 125th anniversary committee is seeking recipes for the cookbook. It’s part of the committee’s plans to celebrate Bridgeville’s 125th year as a borough next summer.
“This has been something we’ve done in the past for other anniversary events, so we are just continuing the tradition,” said Amanda McDermott, a member of the anniversary committee.
“It’s another way to celebrate the people of Bridgeville and pass down family recipes that bring people together.”
Anyone can submit a recipe to cookbook@bridgeville.us, McDermott said. People should include their name, what the recipe is for, a contact phone number and the full recipe.
“You can also include a few photos of the cook,” McDermott said, “especially pictures of the cook in action.”
The committee is working out how people can order the cookbook once it’s complete, McDermott said.
“Right now, we are planning to do online orders and pickup at a designated place,” she said.
“We would also like to have it available during the weeklong celebration of events next July and maybe even have it available at the Bridgeville library or borough building.”
