Police charge man in death of 'severely beaten' woman living under Carnegie bridge
A woman found severely beaten under a bridge in Carnegie died at the scene Sunday, according to Allegheny County Police.
County police have charged Joseph Beraducci, 29, of Pittsburgh with one count of criminal homicide in the woman’s death.
A judge cited Beraducci being homeless in denying him bail when he was arraigned Saturday night and sent to the Allegheny County Jail.
The woman has not been identified.
According to police, emergency dispatch was notified about 6:20 a.m. of a person calling for help under a bridge in the 200 block of Mary Street. The woman and two men were living underneath the bridge.
Police and paramedics had been there earlier for one of the men having a seizure. He was taken to a hospital.
The other man and the woman had no injuries when police and medics left the scene, county police said.
The second man was detained and taken to Allegheny County Police headquarters.
Police said there is no danger to the community.
