Signal Item communities' coronavirus numbers vary

As coronavirus cases continue to surge in Allegheny County and across the country, the communities within the Signal Item coverage area have varying numbers of both positive cases and deaths.

As of Dec. 8, there have been 197 total cases of the novel coronavirus in the Borough of Carnegie since March, according to the latest information provided by an interactive Allegheny County covid-19 map. No deaths have been reported, and 1,490 tests have been administered to Carnegie residents.

Since the pandemic began, Scott Township has had 596 cases (29 deaths), South Fayette has had 548 (19 deaths), Collier Twp. has had 234 (one death), Bridgeville has had 123 cases and no deaths, and Heidelberg has had just 22 cases and reported no deaths.
