South Fayette school district announces alternate plans for commencement, prom

South Fayette Township School District has announced alternate plans for graduation and prom.

According to a letter posted by Superintendent Dr. Ken Lockette posted on the district’s website, the commencement ceremony will be held July 16 if restrictions for large group gatherings and social distancing are lifted. If it is necessary to cancel, a virtual graduation ceremony will be held July 16.

If restrictions for large group gatherings are lifted, prom will be held July 21. More information will be provided.

The district also is planning other activities, including a digital celebration of the class of 2020 and personalized yard signs delivered to seniors.
