State Rep. Anita Astorino Kulik, D-Kennedy, seen here Nov. 2022 during the Salute to Veterans Brunch in Collier, will retire when her term expires in 2026.

State Rep. Anita Kulik announced she will retire from office at the end of her current legislative term, Nov. 30, 2026.

“Being able to serve in the areas where I grew up and spent my life made my terms in office so very special,” said Kulik, a Democrat. “The people and communities are amazing, and it was truly a privilege to be able to serve and represent them.

“My decision to retire from public service next year did not come lightly and came after long thought and discussions with my family and staff. I cannot say enough about my wonderful district office staff and Harrisburg staff, and I am so very grateful that they will be staying with me to finish our term in 2026.”

Kulik’s district includes Bridgeville, Carnegie, Collier, Coraopolis, Kennedy, McKees Rocks, Neville, Pennsbury Village, Robinson and Stowe.

She was first elected in 2016.

Before serving as state representative, Kulik was a commissioner in Kennedy for 13 years.

“I am proud of what has been accomplished in my years of service for the people of our district and the Commonwealth,” she said. “I am especially proud of what has been accomplished for the outdoor sports women and men, as I was chosen to serve as chair of the House Game and Fisheries Committee.”

Kulik said she believes in representative government and that those elected to office should understand that, after a certain period of time, new people should be encouraged to run and serve.

“I look forward to serving the people in 2026 and all the wonderful things that are coming up in the next year for our region and Commonwealth,” Kulik said.
