Ashley Shiwarski and Andrew Rafalski were united in married Aug. 2 at Sapphire Pointe in Dillon, Colo. Ashley is the daughter of Debbie and Ron Shiwarski of Robinson Township and Andrew is the son of Linda and Ron Rafalski of Carnegie. The wedding was witnessed by an intimate gathering of family and friends, including Ashley’s nephews, niece and sisters. A dinner celebration followed the ceremony. Ashley and Andrew reside in Carnegie and are planning a hometown celebration in September.

Donna and John Mittner of Carnegie celebrate 40 years of marriage Aug. 20. They are the parents of John Jr. (Amy) of Pittsburgh and Adam (Allison) of North Carolina. Grandchildren include Zekiel, Kyazon, Charlotte, Benjamin, Luke and Emma Kate.

Sophia Madeline Steffl celebrated her first birthday Aug. 7 with a family party. She is the daughter of Nikki and Bobby Steffl of Collier Township.

Chris and Wendy Burek of Collier Township celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary Aug. 21. Chris and Wendy have three children, Avy, Kasey and Teac.

Patty and John Spotti of Crafton celebrate their 41st wedding anniversary Aug. 26th. They are the parents of a daughter, Kelli.

Gerry Skvarca of Carnegie Radiator on Jane Street celebrates Aug. 28. Gerry is the husband of Colleen and they have two children, Erin (Baird) Hamilton and Rob, and have two grandchildren, Sophie and Harlan.
