One of the biggest events in Collier Township returns this September.

The family-friendly Collierfest will be held from 3 to 10 p.m. Sept. 20 at Collier Community Park, 5 Lobaugh St.

Admission is free.

“We have food trucks, vendors, local businesses and sponsors,” said Rob Shazer, Collier’s parks and recreation director. “It should be a good time.”

Live music includes the Timothy Earl Band and November Blue, Shazer said.

The event is still accepting vendors and sponsorships, he said. People interested can contact him at rshazer@colliertwp.net.

In addition, people can sign up for the “Collier’s Got Talent” competition, also held Sept. 20 at the park from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Select performers will have the opportunity to perform in front of a live audience.

To participate, people should email ngiroski@colliertwp.net with the full name of the performer, a description of their talent and a video of the person performing their talent. The submission deadline is Sept. 8.

Collier officials also have planned a “Cruisin’ Collier Park” event from 5 to 9 p.m. Sept. 19 as a kickoff to Collierfest.

There, people can stroll through Collier Community Park and check out different cars and bikes from multiple generations.

Velveeta will provide live music from 6 to 9 p.m., Shazer said.

“It brings the community together,” he said of the upcoming events. “It’s fall; it breaks up summer leading into winter. You get to meet different residents, and people from different communities come.

“Getting to know people on a personal level is what we enjoy the most.”
