A man was in critical condition after an assault in Pittsburgh’s Carrick neighborhood on Thursday night, according to police.

Police went to the 2100 block of Brownsville Road just after 8 p.m. after receiving reports of a man calling for help outside of an apartment building.

Officers found a man with multiple injuries to his head and face. He appeared to have been struck by an unidentified weapon.

Medics took him to the hospital in critical condition.

Police are investigating.
