Charges filed against grandmother after baby revived with naloxone in McKees Rocks
An infant had to be revived with the overdose-reversal drug naloxone Sunday night in McKees Rocks, according to charges filed against the child’s grandmother.
Robbie Boyer, the child’s grandmother, is charged with aggravated assault, child endangerment and drug violations.
Police responded to the home on Fair Oaks Street about 8:45 p.m. for a report of an unresponsive infant. First responders arrived to multiple people performing CPR on the child, a 10-month-old boy. He was revived with naloxone and taken to UPMC Children’s Hospital in stable condition.
Boyer, 47, took off when police arrived, according to the criminal complaint against her.
Investigators said they found Boyer’s Buick Le Sabre not far from the home with two glass pipes in a cigarette box on the seat, according to the complaint.
A search warrant carried out on the home turned up another glass pipe inside a Newport cigarette box, investigators wrote. They also found several bundles of stamp bags of suspected heroin in a brown bag, along with syringes in a different bag in the living room.
Witnesses, including the child’s parents, told investigators the boy had been in Boyer’s care.
Police are asking for assistance in locating Boyer, who is described as a white female, approximately 5-foot-3 with a thin build. Police request that anyone who sees Boyer should call 9-1-1 immediately.
