Woman accused of hitting Pittsburgh motorcycle officer with her vehicle
A Wilkinsburg woman was arrested Friday for allegedly driving into a Pittsburgh police motorcycle officer with her vehicle on the city’s South Side Thursday night, police said.
The suspect, Teaira C. Green, 25, is charged with aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person, reckless driving and accidents involving death or personal injury while driving under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances.
Green was arraigned before District Judge Craig C. Stephens and released on $25,000 unsecured bond, pending a preliminary hearing Sept. 15 before District Judge Kim
Berkeley Clark.
The officer was struck shortly before 11:15 p.m. while riding near the intersection of East Carson and South 18th Street.
He was taken to a local hospital with back pain after being evaluated by paramedics who responded to the scene.
The officer’s name has not been released.
Green was detained at the scene and taken to undergo sobriety testing, police said.
The city’s Collision Investigation Unit is investigating the incident.
