There won’t be a Labor Day parade this year, most city facilities will be closed and trash collection will be delayed next week because of the holiday.

The Allegheny/Fayette Central Labor Council announced in July the parade would be cancelled because of the covid-19 pandemic.

City facilities will also be closed on Monday.

Refuse collection will be delayed by one day from the day it is normally picked up.

The city’s Healthy Active Living (senior) and recreations centers will also be closed Monday for Grab & Go meal distribution. The next distributions will be Wednesday, Sept. 9 and Friday, Sept. 11.

The city’s spray parks will remain open Monday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Port Authority bus and light rail service will operate on Sunday schedules on Labor Day.

County offices will also be closed on Monday.

North Park and South Park golf courses will be open from 6 a.m. to dusk on Labor Day.

Outdoor areas and restrooms in all nine county parks will remain open.

Those who visit parks should wear face coverings when they are unable to be 6 feet apart from one another.

Outdoor events and gatherings are limited to no more than 100 people, and indoor events and gatherings are limited to no more than 25 people, according to county officials.
