Clairton crash victim dies of gunshot wound

Allegheny County Police detectives are investigating the death of a man found shot in the chest Friday night in Clairton.

First responders were initially called to the 600 block of Miller Avenue in Clairton just before 11 p.m. for a report of a single-vehicle crash.

They arrived to find a 51-year-old man in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the chest.

He was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead shortly after midnight on Saturday morning, according to police. County detectives believe the man was shot somewhere along the 800 block of Miller Avenue.

The man’s identity has not been released.
