Hampton resident Jamie DeHart has been applying the tools of science, education and conservation to become a leader in the conservation community.
In December, DeHart concluded his master’s course of study with a degree in biology from Miami (Ohio) University through Project Dragonfly.
Since joining the Advanced Inquiry master’s program in 2021, DeHart has taken online courses while participating in field studies at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo.
He developed a master plan for what he wanted to accomplish in the program. In many of the master’s courses, DeHart designed projects that supported the plan, which culminated in a final portfolio, “Human-Wildlife Conflict With Large-Bodied Predators.” His work includes promoting coexistence with coyotes.
Professionally, DeHart is the executive director of consulting at Dahlem, Silberman and Associates, a health care strategy, design and operational improvement firm..
The AIP is a master’s degree program offered by Miami University with experiential learning and community engagement at affiliated sites across the United. Project Dragonfly is based in the department of biology at Miami University.
