Council president, VP reelected
During Hampton Township Council’s organization meeting on Jan. 3, Carolynn Johnson was reelected as president and Bethany Blackburn, vice president, after having served in the same capacities in 2022.
Council set agenda/workshop meetings for the second Wednesday of each month and regular meetings for the fourth, except for November and December. In those months, the meetings are moved to the first and third Wednesdays, respectively. All meetings are scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
Museum to host Doll Tea on Jan. 22
A Doll Tea is scheduled for 2 to 3 p.m. Jan. 22 at the Depreciation Lands Museum, 4743 S. Pioneer Road, Hampton.
The afternoon of tea, treats and crafts is for children ages 5 and older, accompanied by their favorite doll. This event is geared to children without adult assistance, but one adult per family is invited to stay, at no charge, and observe the festivities. Or children may be dropped off and picked up an hour later.

Correction
A story in the Dec. 22 issue of Hampton Journal indicates that Waste Management will no longer allow discounts for senior citizens.
An informational brochure from Hampton Township and Waste Management states that residents 65 and older will continue to be eligible for a 10% discount, upon submittal to Waste Management ofproof of age. Also, households that request to pay for service on an annual basis during the first quarter of the year (see your bill for the actual due date) will receive a 5% discount on basic service.
Christmas tree recycling
Allegheny County Parks Department is offering its annual Christmas Tree Recycling Program through Jan. 14 at all nine county parks from 8 a.m. until dusk.
At Deer Lakes Park, drop off at the Veterans Shelter parking lot. At Hartwood Acres Park, drop off is at the Middle Road parking lot, and at North Park, trees can be dropped off at the swimming pool parking lot. For more information, visit alleghenycounty.us.
