County police seeking tips on McKeesport shooting, wreck that left man critically wounded

A man was critically injured by gunfire in McKeesport early Thursday morning but was able to get to a local hospital on his own for treatment, according to Allegheny County police.

Detectives from the the county’s homicide unit responded to a call for shots fired at the intersection of Baile Avenue and Flagler Street at about 12:47 a.m., according to authorities.

While investigating the call, officers learned that the gunshot victim had arrived at the hospital.

A vehicle collision related to the shooting incident also was reported in the 600 block of Versailles Avenue, police said.

Anyone with information about the shooting or the wreck is asked to call the county’s tip line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous.
