A Duquesne City School District student was grazed by a bullet Monday afternoon, according to school officials.

Police were called to Duquesne High School during bus dismissal around 2:30 p.m. for a report of gunfire.

Authorities responded and shortly thereafter called for a SWAT team, according to TribLive news partner WTAE. Officials on scene later said the incident began after shots were fired near South Seventh Street earlier in the afternoon.

School officials did not provide an update on the student’s condition.

“We are working closely with the Duquesne Police Department and will continue to cooperate fully as they conduct their investigation,” Duquesne school officials said in a statement.
