A Duquesne man is facing charges after Allegheny County Police say a boy was hospitalized from ingesting narcotics.

Iedoniae Cole, 32, is facing multiple charges including aggravated assault, possession with intent to deliver, endangering the welfare of children and receiving stolen property.

The Allegheny County Police Department said UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh contacted them Friday after a boy had tested positive for a cocaine metabolite.

It was reported that the boy’s parents dropped him off at the hospital and then immediately left.

Detectives identified the people involved and executed a search warrant at the parents’ home in the 900 block of Wool Avenue in Duquesne.

County police said they recovered a large amount of narcotics, including heroin, fentanyl, cocaine and marijuana along with drug paraphernalia and three handguns. One of the handguns had been reported stolen.

The drugs, paraphernalia and guns were in areas where several children living in the home could access them, police said.

Cole was arraigned Saturday. He was being held in the Allegheny County Jail on $10,000 bail, according to court records.

His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dec. 30.
