A section of I-376 Parkway East is shut down after a large car fire.

Allegheny County 911 said Pittsburgh police, fire and EMS were dispatched to the Bates Street on-ramp of the Parkway at 5:15 a.m. for reports of a car fire.

As of 5:40 a.m., the scene was still active with no hospital transports, dispatchers said.

“Traffic heading eastbound on I-376 from the Parkway West/Fort Pitt Bridge is now being detoured at the Grant Street Exit (Exit 71A). Eastbound traffic coming from I-279 (Parkway North) will continue to detour at the Oakland/Forbes Avenue exit (Exit 72A),” said a 6:30 a.m. statement from PennDOT.
