Arabella Mankovich of Marshall is pictured in 2023 looking for eggs hidden by TigerThon students the night before.

The hunt is on, at least for eggs.

Registrations are open for several local hunts, including the annual North Allegheny TigerThon fundraiser.

Marshall

Marshall is holding an egg hunt for children ages 7 and younger beginning at 10 a.m. March 23 in Knob Hill Community Park, 415 Knob Road, at the Elias Fry Barn.

The event is free for Marshall residents and $5 for nonresidents. Registration is required through www.twp.marshall.pa.us.

McCandless

The Town of McCandless is holding an Easter egg hunt on March 23 at Devlin Park, located behind the town hall, off of Grubbs Road. Hunts will be held at 9:30 a.m. for children through age 3, 10:30 a.m. for children ages 4 to 6 and 11:30 a.m. for those ages 7 to 10.

The event is free. Register through www.townofmccandless.org.

TigerThon fundraiser

North Allegheny students will be hiding eggs to raise money for their annual TigerThon, a fundraiser to fight pediatric cancer.

Students will hide eggs after dark on March 30. Children can wake up to a personal egg hunt in their own backyards, according to Joy Manesiotis, North Allegheny staff organizer for the event.

Costs are $15 for 20 eggs, $40 for 50 eggs, $55 for 70 eggs and $100 for 75 eggs.

The people hiding the eggs do their best to be covert, Manesiotis said.

“Students are told to be quiet and to stay away from windows while hiding eggs. They will not park in driveways or directly in front of the home where they are hiding eggs,” she said.

The egg-hiding teams request that all yards be clean of toys, animals and pet droppings.

Checks can be made payable to NASH and sent to 10375 Perry Highway, Wexford, Pa. 15090. Registration is due by March 15.
