A person has died in connection with a fire Friday night in Braddock.

According to news partners WTAE, firefighters battled a three-alarm blaze at a duplex on Elm Street. An Eastern Regional Mon Valley police officer said the two-story home was engulfed when first responders arrived at about 7 p.m.

The officer said emergency responders were searching for a man who was seen exiting his apartment and then going back inside. The building is located on a narrow alley near Second Street and Holland Avenue.

The county fire marshal is also at the scene.
