Fire swept through a warehouse in Pittsburgh’s Lawrenceville section Saturday morning.

A firefighter was hurt battling a four-alarm warehouse fire in Pittsburgh’s Central Lawrenceville section Saturday.

The blaze, at a warehouse on 51st Street, was reported just after 10 a.m., according to firefighter Josh Abel.

“It’s an entire warehouse fire,” Abel said. “It’s usually our worst nightmare.”

Despite a sprinkler system, the fire extended rapidly throughout the large industrial space, including running up into the roof. It is listed as occupied by CleanCare, a linen and textile rental company.

The fire was called under control just before 12:30 p.m., while firefighters continued to deal with smaller, smoldering hot spots throughout the space, according to Pittsburgh Public Safety.

One firefighter suffered a minor knee injury that was not from burns, Pittsburgh Public Safety said. He was in stable condition when taken to a hospital for evaluation.

No other injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire was under investigation. Crews were expected to maintain a watch for several hours to prevent any reignition of the fire.
